This section includes spoilers about the Queen of Chaurus quest in Parasites
After the Ritual of Kyne's Blessing is complete, here is what to expect.
Part 1 - Incubation
The Seed Stone planted inside you is changing your body in many ways. Consider it as a symbiote or a permanent, multistage parasite. The effects will flare up more and more rapidly until you find out their purpose.
- vagin*l flare: The Seed will extend an appendage outside of your womb which will act as a vagin*l plug.
- Skin flare: Feelers will extend through orifices in your nipples and on your chest. The feelers will make it impossible to wear clothes until the flare is over. The Skin 'armor' comes with enchantments - (Damage Stamina Rate, Fortify Health and Health rate, Damage Reputation).
Part 2 - Heat
You will test the capabilities of the Seed by brewing a potion of Spider pheromones and mating with a spider.
Spider Pheromones - The Seed will absorb the pheromones and grant you new powers:
- a detect life spell to track nearby spiders
- a calm spell to calm spiders without having to brew new potions
- a breeding spell to mate with spiders happily from now on.
Once you receive their egg cluster, the Seed fertilizesthem into individual eggs. The Seed has a special spell in store:
Spawn Spiders - a spawning spell that transforms eggs in your inventory into poison spiders (from the Dragonborn DLC). You may now have access to poison spiders without setting foot on Solstheim. Eggs in your inventory act as ammunitions. The more eggs you have, the more spiders you can spawn.
If you have certain ingredients in your inventory when you cast the spell, you will get different spiders: fire, frost, shock, poison.
Use the Spawn Spiders spell at least once to help set things up for the quest.
Part 3 - Echos
After talking to Danica and the Elder Roots about your new powers, you will be invited to the main course - mating with a chaurus.
Chaurus Armor - This will unlock the Queen of Chaurus Armor, a full body suit similar to a Light Armor with Enchantments (Resistance to poison, Fortify Magicka and Magicka rate, Damage Stamina rate and Reputation).
Chaurus Mask - A separate power to get an armored mask. The mask comes with enchantments as well - (Resistance to poison, Waterbreathing, Damage Reputation)
Spawn Chaurus - The armor will also grant you similar spells using chaurus eggs to summon a chaurus ally to help you in battle or special spiders - glowing, mind control and oil.
Chaurus Pheromones - The spells you received to detect, calm and mate with spiders will also work with chaurus specimens.One caveat though... mating with chaurus only gives you chaurus worms... not eggs. You will have to find existing eggs inside chaurus egg sacks. The worms are true parasites and useless at this stage. If you have Estrus Chaurus, you will also be able to use hatched eggs after a tentacle attack.
Chaurus Brood - The chaurus you spawn using chaurus eggs add up to your brood. You will be able to call and dismiss the brood using additional powers. An option in MCM allows you to control how many spawns in your brood.
Digestive Acid - Finally, you will receive a power to spit out digestive fluids that will attack your enemies and let you absorb their health. There will be a random chance of the target be wrapped into a spider web cocoon for a few seconds.
Like with Spiders, Use the Spawn Chaurus spell at least once to help set things up for the quest.
Part 4 - The Chaurus Queen
You will have to discover where the Queen is located and hear her story. Once you find her, a final scene will allow you to take her place and become the new queen yourself, with the perks that will come with that.
Queen Body Armor - That will grant you a final armor - a full Queen of Chaurus body, similar to Heavy Armor. The armor comes with enchantments - (Glow in the dark, Disease resistance, Poison resistance, Damage Reputation).
Acid Spit - The final form comes with an Acid Spit power, a potent corrosive attack.
Flight - If you have additional mods installed (Animated Dragon Wings, Real Flying or Ultimate Animated Wings), the Chaurus Queen form will grant you actual wings. An option in MCM allows you to keep or remove the wings after the Chaurus Queen Body is removed.
Breeding - You will be able to mate with chaurus and produce your own eggs finally.
Note: Don't forget to pick up the Dwemer explorer suit from the corpse in front of the Queen as you won't be able to get it after the conclusion of the quest. It comes with enchantments: Helmet (Glow in the dark, Waterbreathing), Cuirass (Regenerate Health, Regenerate Stamina), Gloves (Fortify Lockpicking), Boots (Fortify Sneak)
